The Aerotec A. 132 Tangará is a trainer aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer Aerotec SA Industria Aeronáutica .
history
The A. 132 Tangará , originally called A. 132 Uirapuru II, is a military training aircraft that was developed on the basis of a suggestion by the Brazilian Air Force. The Tangará (military name: YT-17) was to replace the Aerotec A. 122 Uirapuru as the standard training aircraft in the Brazilian Air Force . Ultimately, Brazil, which originally wanted to order 100 copies, opted for the Embraer T-27 , so that only six copies were built for the Bolivian Air Force , in addition to the prototype . The prototype was used by the Instituto Tecnológico da Aeronáutica until 2004 and was later handed over to the designer's son. Since then, after installing a Lycoming IO-360-C with 149 kW, it has been used by the Aeroclube de São José dos Campos for aerobatic training.
construction
The Tangará is based on the Uirapuru and uses the same engine, a 4-cylinder Lycoming O-320B2B boxer engine with 119 kW. However, there are significant differences in design. The machine was slightly larger than its predecessor and, like this one, had an all-metal construction, predominantly aluminum, but steel in critical areas. Like its predecessor, the aircraft has a fixed nose wheel landing gear, a conventional tail unit and a cockpit that can be entered by pushing back the hood and enables 360-degree all-round visibility. The crew sit next to each other.
Versions
