Afif Abad Garden (Shiraz)
Afif-Ābād ( Bāgh-e Afif-Ābād , Persian باغ عفیفآباد, or Bāgh-e Golschan , Persian باغ گلشن) is the name of a 127,000 m² garden in the western part of the city of Shiraz in Iran .
Main house
The main house of the garden was built in 1863 by Mirza Ali Mohammad Khan Qavam in the architectural style of the Qajars using Achaemenid architectural style elements and restored in 1962. The terrace of the main building is decorated with reliefs with motifs from Persepolis as well as flower reliefs and tiles with representations from the Shahnameh . The main building, open to the public, now serves as a military museum with weapons from all eras of Persian history .
garden
The walled garden is home to trees such as cypress , fir , pine , willow and orange trees, as well as two pools of water with fish. The Limak River, which has its source in Qasr-e Qomsheh , 15 km away , irrigates the garden.
