Afrikanerbond (cultural organization)

The Afrikanerbond (AB) is an organization of Afrikaans-speaking South Africans . In 1994 he succeeded the Afrikaner Broederbonds . In contrast to its predecessor organization, membership is not subject to any restrictions, but is open to anyone over the age of 18 who identifies with the Afrikaans and speaks Afrikaans. However, applicants must go through a selection process before they can be accepted. In 2007 the AB had around 7,000 members.

In June 2018, President Cyril Ramaphosa attended the celebrations of the Afrikaner bond to mark the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Afrikaner Broederbonds in Paarl .
