Agência Estado ( AE ) is a private Brazilian news agency headquartered in São Paulo . It was founded in 1970 by the Grupo Estado media group so that its own daily newspapers O Estado de S. Paulo and the Jornal da Tarde , as well as its own radio station Rádio Eldorado , could be supplied with information, reports and images.
Shortly after it was founded, the agency began delivering news and images to external customers, mostly small and medium-sized newspapers, as well as radio stations. With structural changes in the late 1980s, AE responded to the changed conditions on the information market and positioned the company better on the national market with more aggressive reporting and procedures. The emerging Brazilian economy should henceforth be provided with news and data using the new electronic communication systems for the various sectors of the Brazilian economy.
The Brazilian financial market was selected as the first major target. With AE Broadcast , news, analysis, quotes, tools and integrated graphics are delivered in real time. AE Conteúdo ( Portuguese : AE content) provides partners worldwide with news. The private agency claims to be the market leader in providing financial information on the Brazilian market today. AE works in a network of worldwide partners, u. a. Thomson Reuters , Associated Press , Bloomberg LP , Agence France Presse , Financial Times and Xinhua .
