Agadão
Agadão is a village and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Águeda .

In green a silver circle with three blue waves above which a golden two-handled jug with a lid hovers. A three-tower wall crown rests on the shield . In the white band at the base of the shield the place name in black letters “AGADÃO”.
Attractions
The town's monuments include the primary school building, the Fonte e lavadouro público do Caselho fountain and washing area , the Moinho da Foz water mill (also Moinho de Rodízio ), and a number of sacred buildings , including the single-aisled parish church Igreja Paroquial de Agadão , named after its patron saint also Igreja de Santa Maria Madalena (German: Church of St. Mary Magdalene). The church dates from the second half of the 18th century, has a bell tower, and inside and outside a. Altar retable made of polished and gilded wood ( Talha dourada ), and coffered ceilings with paintings.

Agadão was the seat of a community of the same name ( Freguesia ) in the district ( Concelho ) of Águeda. In the municipality of Agadão, 380 inhabitants lived on an area of 39 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the parishes of Agadão, Belazaima do Chão and Castanheira do Vouga were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Belazaima do Chão, Castanheira do Vouga e Agadão .
