The precocious potato Agata is from a crossing between BM 52-72 and Sirco emerged. It has been on the Swiss list of varieties since 2001 . It is waxy and less suitable for storage. The breeder is Agrico .

The tubers of this variety are short-oval and quite large with light yellow flesh and flat eyes. Agata usually develops eight to eleven tubers per shrub and you can achieve a relatively high yield with this variety. It is generally used for fresh consumption. Against blight Agata is moderately resistant, however, it is very susceptible to late blight and scab . In addition, the plants can perish even with a short period of frost.
