Agatha Award / Best Non-Fiction Book
Best Non-Fiction (English Best Non-Fiction ) is one of the six regular categories in which the American literary award Agatha Award from the Malice Domestic Ltd. is awarded. The prize in this category has been awarded annually since 1994; it honors the best biography , essay volume , bibliography or other reference work or work of non-fiction published in the previous year by an author from the mystery genre. Works of the so-called true crime genre, in which authors take on true crimes as the starting point of a largely fictional plot (such as Truman Capotes in Cold Blood ), are not permitted. The most successful in this category are Daniel Stashower with three awards (2000 and 2014 as well as 2008 as co-author) as well as Alzina Stone Dale , Willetta L. Heising , Jim Huang and Jane K. Cleland , who each won the award twice.
