The Agencia de Noticias Nueva Colombia (ANNCOL) is a non-commercial news agency run by Latin American and European journalists. ANNCOL does not intend to be neutral and sees its role in the publication of “interviews and press releases of the main sectors of the democratic and progressive movement in Colombia; these include trade unions, human rights organizations and, however, the armed resistance. "

ANNCOL was founded in Stockholm in 1996. In 2002 the Danish journalist Leif Larsen, who died in 2008, took over the honorary presidency of the five-member editorial committee. Larsen had been an honorary member of the Danish Journalists' Association since 1992 and was a member of the resistance movement during the Nazi occupation of his country from 1940 to 1945 and a long-time member of the Danish Communist Party. The agency is accused by the Colombian authorities of being a mouthpiece for the guerrilla organization FARC . After the Colombian authorities asked Sweden to silence the agency, ANNCOL relocated to Denmark in 2003.

ANNCOL is an associate member of the Federación Latinoamericana de Periodistas (FELAP). ANNCOL itself does not provide any information on its form of organization and its financing; According to Colombian sources, ANNCOL is said to have direct contacts with the FARC and is also financed by the FARC.

In April 2011, Joaquín Pérez Becerra, a senior ANNCOL employee, was arrested while entering Venezuela and subsequently extradited to Colombia, where he was wanted for plotting to commit terrorist financing and resource management related to terrorist activities; the charge is based on the e-mail traffic of the seized data from the computer of the FARC leader Raul Reyes , which should prove that ANNCOL was funded by the FARC. As a result, Anncol's website was suspended.
