history
The company was founded in 1981 by Wilfred Corrigan .
In 1998 LSI Logic acquired Symbios Logic from Hyundai .
On July 2, 2002, chip manufacturer LSI Logic Corporation announced that it had agreed to acquire the Mylex division of computer manufacturer IBM Corporation and that the subsequent cash transaction should be completed in the third quarter of the same year. The Californian specialist for RAID systems, Mylex Corporation , took over the business of Buslogic Inc. , which manufactured SCSI host adapters, in 1996 .
In 2007, the merger of LSI Logic and Agere Systems , the former semiconductor division of Lucent Technologies , created the new company LSI.
In 2014 LSI was taken over by the Singaporean competitor Avago Technologies . LSI is now part of Broadcom Inc.
Products
The products from LSI Corporation include host bus adapters (HBA) for various interfaces of storage systems such as SAS , SATA , Fiber Channel or SCSI . Furthermore, the company continues to operate the network products of the acquired company Agere.
