Agglutination polymerase chain reaction

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The agglutination PCR (ADAP) is a biochemical method to determine the amount of antibodies . It is a variant of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), more precisely the immuno-PCR .

properties

The agglutination PCR uses the antigen of the antibodies to be quantified, which has been previously marked with primers . The binding of antibodies to the antigen creates immune complexes that agglutinate with one another . As with other immuno-PCR, agglutination PCR combines the specific binding of antibodies to (any) antigens with the sensitivity of PCR. As a result, the detection limit is in the zeptomolar range with a measurement range five powers of ten above.
