Agnaptos
Agnaptos ( ancient Greek Ἀγνάπτος ) was a Greek architect who worked in the Zeus sanctuary in Olympia in the Hellenistic or Roman times .
He built a monumental portico named after him in the southeastern part of the Altis south of the stadium. It provided the background to that of Cleoitas in the 5th century BC. The system with the “start boxes” of the hippodrome was developed in Chr., At the same time it served as its entrance front.
Remnants of the complex could not be proven archaeologically. Since there is no further literary information on the columned hall or information on the spatial allocation of the launch facility to the rest of the hippodrome, the specific size of the hall remains unclear.
