The Agnes Miegel House (2009)

The Agnes-Miegel-Haus in Bad Nenndorf was the residence of the writer Agnes Miegel from 1953 to 1964 . Today it houses a literary museum that commemorates the life and work of the author.
Due to Agnes Miegel's support for National Socialism , the nationwide debate about renaming the objects named after her arose - since the Agnes-Miegel-Haus is currently privately owned, it will probably not be renamed.

After fleeing East Prussia in February 1945 and staying in a Danish refugee camp, Agnes Miegel settled in Bad Nenndorf. The community granted her lifelong right to live in the house, which soon became a magnet for friends and admirers. Numerous poems and stories were written here. After her death in 1964, the house was acquired by the Agnes Miegel Society , founded in 1969, and set up as a literature museum. In the originally preserved living and working rooms, pictures, books, documents and personal items tell of the poet's life.
