Agogics (social science)

Agogik (from the Greek  ἄγειν ágein , dt. Lead , transport , drive , pull ) is a collective term in the social sciences for teaching about the professional guidance and accompaniment of people of all ages. Agogik aims to promote people in their social , personal and professional skills and to increase them.

The term occurs primarily in compound words such as pedagogy (for children and young people ), andragogy ( adult and further education ) or gerontagogy (further education for older people ).
