Agoritsa Bakodimou

Agoritsa Bakodimou ( Greek Αγορίτσα Μπακοδήμου ; * 1965 in Patras ) is a Greek translator and author .

Life

Agoritsa Bakodimou was born in Patras and now lives mainly in Athens. She studied law in Athens and Birmingham. Until 1992 she worked as a lawyer in Patras. Since then she has devoted herself exclusively to writing and traveling as a translator, literary critic and author. In 2007 she made her literary debut with "A place elsewhere. In search of the happiness of traveling" (Original title: To Enxiridio tou kalou taxidioti - The Handbook of the Good Traveler), which made her shortlisted for the literature prize in her home country the magazine Diavaso in the category Best first work and positive reviews in all major Greek newspapers. Agoritsa Bakodimou is a renowned translator for English-language literature and does this full-time.
