Agricola (Pelagians)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Agricola (around 429 ) was a British theologian who advocated Pelagianism .

According to the chronicle of Prosper Tiro of Aquitaine, Agricola was the son of Severianus, also a Pelagian bishop, in 429. At first he wanted to go to the Orient in order to live ascetically there. In Sicily he met a distinguished Roman woman who won him over to Pelagian asceticism. Prosper of Aquitaine then reported primarily on the dispute between Agricola and Germanus of Auxerre .
