Life

At the age of twelve he learned to play the tabla under Ustad Zaland . He attended the police academy in Kabul. His first song was Chashman e Abe . In favor of singing, however, playing instruments faded into the background. With his voice and supported by his attractive appearance, he quickly rose to become one of the most popular singers in Afghanistan in the 1970s. In his album productions he worked with other well-known Afghan musicians, such as B. Hangama , Mahwash or Salma Jahani .

In 1980, after the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan, he emigrated from Afghanistan to Germany, where he met the singer Hangamah again. The two married, but soon divorced. From this marriage a son was born. Ahmad Wali later married two more times. From the early to mid-1980s, Ahmad Wali toured several European countries. Often the proceeds from these concerts went to refugees and displaced persons from the Afghan civil war.
