Ahmed Hussein al-Ghashmi

Ahmed Hussein al-Ghashmi (also al-Ghashmi ; * 1941 ; † June 24, 1978 in Aden ; Arabic أحمد حسين الغشمي, DMG Aḥmad Ḥusain al-Ġašmī ) was President of the Yemeni Arab Republic (Northern Yemen) in 1977 and 1978 .

Lieutenant Colonel al-Ghashmi came to power as the successor to President al-Hamdi through a military coup, but only served one year. He was killed in an assassination attempt.
