Ahmed Shobair

Ahmed Shobair ( Arabic أحمد شوبير, DMG Aḥmad Šūbayr , born September 28, 1960 ) is a former Egyptian soccer goalkeeper .

During his active career Shobair played for the club Al Ahly Cairo , with whom he won the Egyptian championship seven times and the Egyptian Cup five times. Shobair took part with the national team at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, where he played three games.

He currently works as Vice President of the Egyptian Football Association and host of a weekly sports program on Egyptian television.

As a member of the then ruling National Democratic Party, he was represented in the Egyptian parliament for some time.
