Sheikh Ahmed Tamim ( Arabic أحمد تميم, DMG Aḥmad Tamīm , Ukrainian Ахмед Тамім Achmed Tamim ; * 1956 in Lebanon ) is Mufti of Ukraine as chairman of the Religious Administration of the Muslims of Ukraine , based in Kiev , which is assigned to the Habashite movement originally from Lebanon . He is a citizen of Ukraine .

In 1976 he came to Ukraine, where he studied at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute . In 1982 he obtained a master’s degree on "Microprocessor Systems and Local Area Networks". He worked in foreign companies. He is married and has five children.

He received his Islamic theological training in Syria and at the Theological Faculty of the Arab University of Beirut . He has a PhD in theology. He is the author of several books on Islamic religious topics. In 1994 he was elected Mufti of Ukraine at the First Congress of Muslims of Ukraine.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).

He was one of the signatories of the Amman Message ( Amman Message ).
