Ahornberg (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ahornberg is a desert near Buchbach , a district of the town of Schönwald in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel .

The desert lies on the southern slope of the Rabenberg west of Schönwald near today's Buchbach. The first documentary mention was in 1414 during a dispute between the city of Eger and the Nuremberg burgrave Johann , when the burgrave tried to remove several places from the area of influence of the Egerland . The place was mentioned as a desert as early as 1417 and was used as such in deeds until the 18th century. After 1690 the so-called Ahornberger Vorwerk was built as a new building, which has been handed down to 1827.
