Reinhard Höllerich

Reinhard Höllerich (born August 17, 1947 in Rehau ; † January 9, 2020 there ) was a high school teacher , writer , dialect and local history researcher .

Life dates

Reinhard Höllerich studied German, geography and history at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg from 1967 to 1975 . From 1968 to 1971 he worked as a student assistant at the East Franconian Dictionary . He passed the state examination for teaching at the grammar school in 1973. He received his doctorate in 1975/76 in the field of linguistics and literary studies with the dissertation of the historical book of place names of Bavaria / Upper Franconia / former district of Rehau and independent city of Selb . He started teaching at the Wolfram-von-Eschenbach-Gymnasium in Schwabach in 1975. Reinhard Höllerich has been teaching at the Johann-Christian-Reinhart-Gymnasium Hof since 1977, and since 1982 he has been a specialist in geography, history and social studies. In 1995 he was promoted to Director of Studies . He was the contact person for school history and the namesake of the school, Johann Christian Reinhart . From 1989 to 1999 he was honorary director of the Rehau City Museum and chairman of the Rehau regional group of the Historical Association for Upper Franconia . He retired in 2012. His local history writings concentrate on the area of ​​the Altlandkreis Rehau , which corresponds to today's urban area of Rehau and mostly parts of the neighboring communities and cities, including Selb, Schwarzenbach an der Saale , Oberkotzau and Regnitzlosau . Since 1989 he has been a questionnaire worker at the East Franconian Dictionary and since its completion and printing, he worked as a questionnaire worker at the Bavarian Dictionary at the Commission for Dialect Research in Munich. He was the son of Hans Höllerich . In 2019 he was awarded the City of Rehau's badge of merit.
