The forester's house is a listed former forester's house in the Hundisburg district of the city of Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is registered as a monument under registration number 107 05 001 .

location

The forester's house is located at the intersection of the path from Althaldensleben to Dönstedt (now Bebertal II ) and the Hundisburger Waldweg (Hundisburg - Neuhaldensleben ).

history

After Hermann von Nathusius had the former manor forest of the Hundisburg Castle , the Gräwig, cut down, he decided to move the forester's accommodation closer to the remaining forest in the north-west of the castle. Until then, the forester family lived together with the manor smith's family in a house at Magdeburger Strasse 18/19 . Therefore, around 1845, the free-standing building known as the forester's house or forester's house was built. In 1980 it was repaired.

architecture

The building is designed in the English country house style and consists of two intertwined structures with gable roofs ; an originally existing, artistically designed, high pair of chimneys has not been preserved. A small portal was built in front of the street. The entrance door and the window crowns are designed in an ogival shape. As a focal point, the house was part of the Althaldensleben-Hundisburg landscape park planned by Johann Gottlob Nathusius . Due to the reforestation of the "dry meadow" (area of the landscape park) that has taken place in the meantime, this function of the forester's house is no longer given today.
