from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The association KULTUR-Landschaft Haldensleben-Hundisburg e. V. was founded in 1995; the seat of the association is at Hundisburg Castle in Haldensleben . The purpose of the organization is to research, maintain and operate the Hundisburg Castle, the associated baroque garden, the adjacent Althaldensleben-Hundisburg landscape park and those parts of the landscape and buildings that are connected to these cultural monuments. The goal of the association is to present the landscape and buildings to the public and make them accessible.

history

In 1992, as a forerunner, the Hundisburg Castle Association was founded, which together with the city of Haldensleben took care of the partly decaying castle complex. In 1995 the city acquired the castle, the associated garden and parts of the landscape park for a symbolic purchase price from the Treuhandanstalt . In the same year, the sponsoring association KULTUR-Landschaft Haldensleben-Hundisburg was founded, which was supposed to coordinate the repair and use of the entire complex. To this end, the association has concluded contractual agreements (lease, rental and other contracts) with the owner, the city of Haldensleben, and the users of the cultural monuments mentioned. The founding of the association was primarily the result of the initiative of the then director of the Haldensleber Museum, Ulrich Hauer . Until 2013 he held the office of chairman of the association's board. For his achievements, he was awarded honorary membership when he left.

The current board consists of Joachim Hoeft (chairman), Kathrin Wagner (deputy), Bärbel Schön, Nico Schmidt, Norbert Eichler and Doreen Scherff (as representative of the city of Haldensleben).

activities

The association manages the palace complex and the adjacent facilities on behalf of the city. This applies to the construction supervision (construction projects are partly supervised by the city administration) as well as the use. The city supports the association financially. As part of its mandate, the association carries out research, conservation measures, corresponding events and publication activities. He is responsible for the organization of any care, management and maintenance measures for the managed objects. He also endeavors to get the content and financial support of his projects from third parties. To this end, he cooperates with local and external partners.

The castle is used for cultural and commercial purposes - on the association's own initiative as well as outsourced economic activities. This includes the rental of the so-called academy building (conferences) and the provision of horeca services with a youth hostel, guest house, gatehouse boarding house and the castle restaurant. The organization of the Summer Music Academy , the operation of the brickworks technical monument , the eco school of the Haus des Waldes as well as a spinning room, the castle shop and a brewery are made possible. The Alvensleben family library and exhibitions of historical paintings by the Haldensleben collector Friedrich Look and the contemporary Magdeburg sculptor Heinrich Apel are looked after in the palace . A registry office is operated for the city of Haldensleben and, in addition to many other events, an annual Christmas market is organized.
