Hans Bucka (local history researcher)

Hans Bucka (born August 8, 1913 in Rehau ; † September 27, 2003 ibid) was a district home nurse and co-founder of the Kleinlosnitz Farm Museum .

Life dates

Hans Bucka was self-taught with regard to his local history activities , his trained profession was a belt maker. He had a workshop on Burgplatz in Rehau. In 1959, Hans Bucka co-founded a local history study group that was formed within the Fichtelgebirgsverein and later joined the Historical Association for Upper Franconia as a local branch. Since then he has had various projects with Hans Höllerich . From 1966 to 1975 he and his wife Gertrud took part in the excavations of the Ostburg on the Waldstein under the direction of Karl Dietel . In 1972 he was involved in the investigation of the Herrgottstein at Hendelhammer . In 1973 he was among the participants in the excavation of the Rehau castle stable . From 1981 to 1983 he was involved in the excavations of the urn grave field near Osseck am Wald . He was involved in founding the Kleinlosnitz Farm Museum in 1983, driven by Karl Bedal . In 1985 he got involved in the construction of the museum center in Rehau. With Oskar Heland he was connected to the research of small monuments, the results of which were reflected in three publications. He had been the deputy county home nurse from 1974 and became Helands successor in 1993. In 1985 he received the medal of merit of the district of Hof and in 1986 that of the city of Rehau. In 1994 he was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor of the Upper Franconia district. In 2001 he received the Ring of Honor of the City of Rehau.
