The Upper Franconian Farm Museum Kleinlosnitz is an open-air museum in the Kleinlosnitz district of Zell in the Fichtelgebirge about the regional history of agriculture.

History of the museum

The founding of the museum in 1983 is linked to the name of Karl Bedals , who gained importance as an in-house researcher in the Hof area . A corresponding association was founded in 1972 and acquired the so-called Dietel-Hof in 1976 and the neighboring farm in 1978. The museum area was expanded with a craftsman's house from 1785, which was moved from Saalenstein in 1990 . Furthermore, a flax breaker house from Wurlitz was rebuilt here. Typical for the region are the tailcoat roof , timber-framed building elements and the use as a stable house . In the years 2004–2006 the museum was expanded with a newly built exhibition hall by the Hof District Office .

The traditional covering of the roofs with thatch can be demonstrated and learned. The spectrum of the exhibits ranges from the rural interiors of the living rooms to rural equipment to the historical cultivation of fields and meadows. The exhibits include a pitch stone , an apiary and a historic wind turbine.

Dietel-Hof

The nucleus and nucleus of the museum is the 200-year-old Dietel-Hof, one of the last largely original Upper Franconian four-sided courtyards , from which many documents and other documents have also been preserved. The Dietel-Hof including the gatehouse and the adjoining farm building are under monument protection . In 1986, 186 layers of paint were found on the walls of the living room.
