Wurlitz is a district of the town of Rehau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof with 230 inhabitants.
geography
Wurlitz is about 3.5 km west of Rehaus in the Schwesnitz valley . Woja and Heideckerziegelhütte belong to the former political community . The Wojaleite nature reserve is located in the eastern part of the village . Rare plants grow on the gabbro and serpentinite rock .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1251. In 1390 the Himmelkron monastery , the von Kotzau family and the von Blanckenberg family owned the village. The Rabensteiners join Döhlau later. In 1503 the knight's seat of Wurlitz as well as the tower hill castle Woja fell victim to the supporters of the church robber Stöhr. In 1978 the formerly independent community was incorporated into Rehau.
economy
Wurlitz's most important employer is the large quarry owned by Hessit-Werk Steinbruch und Betriebs GmbH , where gabbro and serpentine are mined as gravel.

The district has its own stop on the Cheb – Oberkotzau railway line .
