Dobenck is a district of the town of Rehau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .
geography
The hamlet is located near the district road HO 4 , about 7 km northeast of the main town between Oberprex and Ludwigsbunn in the northeast of the Rehau Forest right on the Czech border. The scattered settlement consists of several groups of settlements. The Furthbächlein flows through the place.
history
The name Dobeneck to endure for a settlement in or on the oak grove call. It gave its name to the von Dorbenck family , who presumably had their ancestral seat there with the Dobeck Castle . The town of Dobenck near Taltitz in the Saxon Vogtland , which partially disappeared when the Pirk dam was built , was also connected to this family in terms of settlement history.
Today's hamlet Dobenck dates back to the beginning of the 17th century. Boundary stones from the end of the 18th century indicate property of the von Feilitzsch family and are today architectural monuments . Until 1978, Dobenck was part of the municipality of Faßmannsreuth together with the neighboring villages .
