history
A border castle was probably built at the Dobeck site as early as the 10th century. With Berthold von Dobenck , this family was first documented in 1279 in the Saxon town of Dobenck. Their ancestral seat was initially probably at Dobeck Castle, first mentioned in 869, in Dobeck near Rehau in Upper Franconia . The later ancestral seat Dobeck near Taltitz was mentioned in 1445/1447 as a knight's seat and in 1542 as a Vorwerk . Dobenck has been mentioned as a manor since 1606 . The Eulenstein manor in Taltitz, first mentioned in the second half of the 18th century, was connected to this. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Dobeck manor passed from the Neipperg family to the Hickmann family. In the year 1729 the Dobeck Castle was rebuilt. In terms of church, Dorbenck has always been parish to Taltitz. Until 1856, Dobenck belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg , while Taltitz was in the Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place and manor district of Dobeck were incorporated into the Oelsnitz court office and in 1875 the Oelsnitz administration .
The community of Dorbenck was incorporated into Taltitz on October 1, 1935. When the Pirk dam was built (1935–1938), the manor lost part of the land because it was located in the reservoir area. Since then, Dobenck Castle has been located directly on the banks of the Pirk Dam. A pre-lock was named after Dobeck. In the course of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 onwards , the Kasten-Hickmann family, owners of the manors Dobeck and Eulenstein, were expropriated. The Dobenck Castle is now used as a youth hostel . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Dobenck became part of the Taltitz community in 1952 and became part of the Oelsnitz district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued in 1990 as the Saxon district of Oelsnitz and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. With the incorporation of Taltitz into Oelsnitz, Dobeck has also belonged to the city of Oelsnitz / Vogtl since January 1st, 1994. On January 1, 2011, Dobenck became part of the municipality of Oelsnitz / Vogtl. painted.
