history
The forest hoof village Oberhermsgrün was mentioned in 1328 as "Obern Hermansgrune". Regarding the manorial rule, the place was partly subject to the parish of Oelsnitz, the council of Oelsnitz and the German order of knights in Plauen . From 1764 to 1856, Oberhermsgrün belonged entirely as an administrative village to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg . In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Oelsnitz court office and in 1875 to the Oelsnitz administration . In terms of church, Oberhermsgrün has always been parish to Oelsnitz.
On October 1, 1934, Unterhermsgrün was incorporated into Oberhermsgrün. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Oberhermsgrün with its suburb of Unterhermsgrün became part of Oelsnitz in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon Oelsnitz district in 1990 and in the Vogtland district in 1996 rose.
