history

The settlement was first mentioned as early as 1265. The form of the field of the German Kurzwaldhufendorf indicates a settlement of Franconian farmers. The place was probably created as a Vorwerk , as an economic yard of Voigtsberg Castle . In 1332 it was owned by the Count of Truhendingen . Shortly afterwards the place came to Friedrich IV. , Who in turn sold his property to the Lords of Trützschler . A knight's seat has been proven in Lauterbach since 1445. Under the von Trützschler family, the knight's seat was divided in 154, which initially developed into a manor and a farm , and later two manors . The city of Oelsnitz later bought both goods. While the manor Lauterbach upper part was owned by Messrs. Albin Rudert and Karl August Bleicher in 1901, the manor Lauterbach lower part came to the Schilbach family. It then changed hands several times in the first quarter of the 20th century until it finally came to the Grau family in 1918.

Regarding the lordship , Lauterbach was part of the two manors of Lauterbach, to the parish of Oelsnitz, the council of Oelsnitz and as an official village to the electoral Saxon or royal Saxon office of Voigtsberg . The Lauterbach Manor Upper Part had jurisdiction over goods in Lauterbach, Oberhermsgrün , Obertriebel , Obertriebelbach , Saalig and Untertriebel . The Lauterbach manor lower part had jurisdiction over goods in Lauterbach, Oberhermsgrün and Obertriebelbach. In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Oelsnitz court office and in 1875 to the Oelsnitz administration . Lauterbach has always been parish to Oelsnitz. In 1880 Lauterbach had 561 inhabitants, in 1900 already 966. The growth of the Oelsnitz industry was also noticeable here. In 1925 the area of the village was 875 hectares and 1189 inhabitants were counted. In the course of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 , the manors were expropriated. While the manor house of the Lauterbach Manor Lower Part was largely demolished in 1949/1950, the Lauterbach Manor Upper Part is still inhabited today.

Lauterbach was incorporated into Oelsnitz on July 1, 1950. In this context , the settlement of Süssebach , which had previously belonged to Lauterbach, was reclassified to Ebersbach . Through the second district reform in the GDR , Lauterbach came to be part of the city of Oelsnitz / Vogtl. in 1952 to the district of Oelsnitz in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued in 1990 as the Saxon district of Oelsnitz and was incorporated into the Vogtlandkreis in 1996. In 2011 Lauterbach became the official district of the city of Oelsnitz / Vogtl. painted.

Old school Lauterbach

In 1813 the community in Karl Schönrich from Zaulsdorf employed a permanent child teacher who taught the children in a so-called serial school until 1839. After hard disputes, the community built its own school in 1839. The current school building was erected in 1899 and an extension was added in 1911.
