history

The scattered settlement of Göswein was mentioned in 1791 as "Gößwein". She was in the northern corridor of Magwitz which until the 19th century to the basic rule of the manor Magwitz belonged. As part of Magwitz, Göswein belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg until 1856 . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Göswein came to the Oelsnitz district in the Chemnitz district as part of the Magwitz community in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On January 1, 1973, Magwitz was incorporated with Göswein to Planschwitz. Since 1990 Göswein has belonged as a district of the municipality of Planschwitz to the Saxon district of Oelsnitz, which became part of the Vogtland district in 1996.
