The Turmhügelburg Woja is an Outbound Motte (motte) in Woja , now part of Rehau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria .

An island surrounded by a moat can still be seen from the ramparts in the center of the village . The moat widens to a pond in the south and east. Traces of development are no longer visible. The complex is mentioned in the course of the first documentary mentions of the village in 1390 as the seat and in 1422 as the castle of the von Kotzau family .

The end of the tower hill complex was in 1503. Followers of the church robber Georg Stöhr set fire to the tower hill, it burned down and was never rebuilt. In the same year Georg Stöhr had robbed the Jakobuskirche in Oberkotzau , he was caught and burned as a punishment. In revenge, his followers set fire to the church, whereupon the church roof and several adjacent houses burned down. In addition to Woja, they also set fire to the Kotzauer's seats in Wurlitz , Kautendorf and Höfen in Fletschenreuth .
