The Burgstall Weidenstein , also called Am Weidenstein , is a castle stable near Thierbach , a district of Bad Steben in the Hof district .
The castle stable of the summit castle is 570 m above sea level. NN in the southeast of the village Thierbach on the hilltop of the Weidenstein, which drops steeply towards the Froschbachtal and thus offers protection. To the southeast in the direction of the saddle of the Mühlberg, the facility was secured by a still visible neck ditch with an outer wall. Rock debris cover the area. The Burgstall is a destination of the Burgstall hiking trail of the Franconian Forest Association .
The castle was built to secure the border between the domains of Naila and Lichtenberg . In the fief book of 1398 by Johann III. from Nuremberg it was already referred to as the Burgstall.
