Nikolaus von der Grün and Konrad von Reitzenstein are named as owners of the castle, first mentioned in 1330 . In 1382 the castle was destroyed in the feud between the Vogtland knighthood and the imperial city of Eger . Neuhaus Castle is the successor to a residence in Rodesgrün.
The Burgstall is not far from the Rodesgrün tower hill . A gentle slope stretches from Rodesgrün down to Selbitz, as well as to Neuhaus in the east and offers a good overview in these directions. The area on which the Burgstall was located is now slightly elevated and overgrown with trees.
