Niedernberg Castle
The Niederberg Castle is a castle in Regnitzlosau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .
The Niedernberg manor came from Kursachsen to the Markgraftum Brandenburg-Kulmbach in 1524 and was part of the local Vogtland knighthood . The name Niedernberg is to be understood in contrast to Hohenberg Castle . The castle was probably first owned by the von Künsberg family and passed through the von Feilitzsch family to the von Reitzenstein family at the end of the 16th century . From 1768 the owners changed several times.
The present castle was rebuilt in 1685 after a fire. The largely unadorned building has an entrance portal in the built-up courtyard. The two-storey half - hipped roof building is a listed building .
