The Burgstall Rehau is an abandoned castle in Rehau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria .

The von Kotzau family built a moated castle in the middle of the 13th century. It was a complex on a rectangular hill in Toad Lake, which was surrounded by a moat. In 1390 the village - with the castle - was a desert . The von Sparneck family was also one of the co-owners. The first documentary mention as Burgstall or "Wallgarten" comes from 1417. In the time of the Margraviate , the area was used as the garden of the bailiffs . Paul Daniel Longolius described slight traces of the terrain in 1773. The area came into private ownership from 1822 and was largely built on. Excavations in 1973 revealed little remains of the foundation. At the excavations, u. a. Hans Höllerich , Hans Bucka and Karl Dietel took part. The partially still recognizable Wallgarten is indicated on site by an information board. The facility was located in the area of Krötenseestrasse, Fabrikstrasse and Wallstrasse. The street names Burgstrasse and Burgplatz are probably misinterpretations, because Burgstrasse was still called Mühlstrasse until the 1930s.
