Köditz Castle

Köditz Castle is a castle and a monument in Köditz .

The first known owner of the property was the von Reitzenstein family , who sold it in 1620 to the Bohemian exile family of the Radisborski von Sechzebus. Through the donor of the pulpit of the Leonhardskirche, Johann Paul Joditzer, ownership passed to the von Falkenstein family , who expanded the castle considerably towards the end of the 17th century, equipped it with a baroque garden and increased the property belonging to it. She also rebuilt the Leonhard Church after the Thirty Years' War . The family developed in various lines. 1764 possession got to the Hofer family Oerthel. The current appearance of the castle dates back to the 18th century, it has a late medieval core.
