The Tower Hill Adlanz is an Outbound Turmhügelburg (Motte) in Almbranz (City Helmbrechts ) in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .
In terms of settlement history, the tower hill belongs to the neighboring town of Adlanz (town of Schauenstein ). It is often referred to in literature as the "Old Castle". There are no documented sources, there are only traces of terrain. The tower hill is on the road between Almbranz and Edlendorf . A nearby spring served as a water supply. A junction leads over the scattered settlement of Adlanz to the Loh and the deserted Reuschen . The city border between Schauenstein and Helmbrechts used to be the border of the old districts of Naila and Münchberg . While today's district of Adlanz is in the Schauenstein area, the tower hill is in the Almbranzer area. Today's Adlanz is a new settlement from the 17th century. Before that, Adlanz was a desert. The original settlement extended over the entire clearing island, which is still recognizable today, on both sides of the administrative borders.
Only traces of the terrain can be seen from the tower hill and other buildings. Found fragments prove the location. The area is designated as a ground monument.
