White Water Racing World Championships 2011

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2011 Canoe White Water Sprint World Championships took place from June 11th to 13th, 2011 in Augsburg . It was the first pure sprint world championships in white water racing. Thanks to the innovation of holding sprint world championships in every odd year, Augsburg was able to host a world championship in canoe whitewater racing for the first time with the ice canal , the 1972 Olympic route.

A total of nine competitions were held, for the men an individual and a team decision in a single kayak (K1), single canoe (C1) and two-person canoe (C2) and for the women an individual and team decision in a single kayak and a single decision in the single canoe. For the first time, a competition mode with two qualification runs and then a decisive final run for the best boats was held in the individual decisions.
