The von Blanckenberg family (occasionally also von Blankenberg ) was a Thuringian - Franconian noble family, which is now extinct.

origin

The place Blankenberg is now part of the municipality of Rosenthal am Rennsteig in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia and was the ancestral seat of the family of the same name, which probably came from the entourage of the Haidstein servants, on the Haidstein near Cham in the Upper Palatinate . The spelling of the name is tied to the place that was spelled Plankinperc , Plankemperc or Blanckenberg over the years .

coat of arms

The coat of arms of those of Blanckenberg shows a blue left bar in silver and a red oblique left bar in the width of the bar . The crowned helmet with blue-silver on the right and red-silver helmet cover on the left carries an open flight in the colors of the shield.
