The Franconian Open Air Museum Bad Windsheim is a 45 hectare museum area on the southern edge of the old town of Bad Windsheim . The establishment of the open air museum in the sponsorship of the district of Middle Franconia was decided on July 27, 1976 by the district assembly. In the spring of 1979, the construction of buildings began, which were moved from their original locations to the museum grounds.
