Tobias Rosen (born September 28, 1983 in Nuremberg ) is a German actor and film producer .

Life

Tobias Rosen spent his childhood in South Africa and his youth in Oberasbach . He was a student at the Oberasbach Bonhoeffer High School.

Tobias Rosen took acting classes at the Actors in Motion drama school in Munich in 2004/2005 . From 2005 to 2008 he completed his acting training at the New Munich Drama School of Ali Wunsch-König in Munich. In 2008 he passed the ZAV exam to become a state-certified actor.

Rosen received his first theater engagements during his acting studies. In 2004/2005 he played the role of the lover Fenton in the Shakespeare comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Klosterhofspiele in Langenzenn . In 2005 he appeared at the Stadttheater Fürth in the role of landowner Ivan Vasilyevich Lomow in the one-act play The Marriage Proposal . In 2009 Rosen played Wes in the youth play Crash by Sera Moore Williams at the Franconian Theater Schloss Maßbach , Bobby in the comedy Taxi, Taxi by Ray Cooney and also Fritz in Charley's aunt in the famous stage clothes . At the Small Theater in Bad Godesberg he played Prince Kalaf in Turandot in the 2009/10 season , in the version by Friedrich Schiller . In 2010 he played again at the Franconian Theater Schloss Maßbach; he took over the Dorante in The Game of Love and Chance , the playboy with gambling debts Marco Forto in Mirandolina by Carlo Goldoni and the Bill in the comedy Funny Money by Ray Cooney.

Since 2005 Rosen has worked regularly in film and television productions. He had episode roles in the television series Friends - Life Begins , Siska and Marienhof . From February 16, 2011 (episode 981) to October 15, 2014 (episode 1829) he was part of the ARD television series Rote Rosen in the role of surfer and trainee for hotel manager Michael “Mick” Eckart for the main cast of the series.

Rosen also worked as a voice actor . In the audio book The Game of Kings by Rebecca Gablé , he also took on the role of Rys.

During his time as an actor, Rosen began to realize his own projects together with his fellow actor Max Kidd , the director Tilman Braun and the joint company. After leaving Rote Rosen, he began studying film at the Hamburg Media School in the master’s degree (production department) in 2014 . The short film Valentina he produced was shown at various national and international festivals and received several awards. His graduation film Watu Wote , which is based on a true story, was shot as a producer in Kenya ; the film was nominated for an Oscar in the category “Best Short Film” in 2018 . In the same year he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
