Oskar Heland

Oskar Heland (born December 4, 1914 in Ebersdorf near Coburg , † October 10, 2000 in Rehau ) was a German district home keeper , homeland researcher and author.

Life dates

Oskar Heland was the youngest child of the farmers Max and Alma Heland in Ebersdorf. He attended elementary school in Neustadt , later the teacher training seminar in Coburg . Since the outbreak of war in 1939 he was deployed as a soldier on various fronts. In 1940 he married Johanna, nee Edelmann, and the marriage resulted in two daughters. From 1944 to 1948 he was taken prisoner of war . At the end of 1948 he continued his work as a teacher in Nentschau . He stayed at the school until it was closed in 1969. He was a councilor in Nentschau from 1952 to 1956. He also headed the men's choir in the Nentschau song wreath. From 1969 until his retirement in 1979 he was the vice-principal of the Regnitzlosau school .

On July 24, 1968 Oskar Heland was appointed district home nurse for the district of Rehau . As a result of the district reform , he worked for the district of Hof in the area of ​​the former district of Rehau / Nord from 1974 . Hans Bucka was his deputy. After the death of Hans Hofner , the areas of activity within the district were combined into three areas and from 1983 Oskar Heland took over the former district of Hof ohne Berg and continued to take over the northern part of the old district of Rehau. For reasons of age he ended this activity in 1993 and Hans Bucka became his successor.

With his colleague Bucka he published the regional standard literature for stone crosses , cross stones and other small monuments . He was involved in the excavations at the St. Aegidien Church in Regnitzlosau in 1972 and, like Karl Dietel and Reinhard Höllerich, in the excavations of the Hallstatt-era burial mounds near Osseck am Wald in 1983. In addition to the excavations at the church, the interior renovations included consecration- or Apostle crosses from the pre-Reformation period discovered and burial documents documented. He was one of the co-founders of the Kleinlosnitz Farm Museum . One of his achievements is his efforts to preserve the portal of Hohenberg Castle , the half-timbered house and the thatched-roof house in Nentschau .
