On January 1, 1972, the previously politically independent municipality of Nentschau was incorporated into Regnitzlosau as part of the Bavarian municipal reform.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the old border crossing between Posseck and Nentschau was opened on December 22nd, 1989.
