Schwesendorf is a district of the municipality of Regnitzlosau in the Upper Franconian district of Hof in Bavaria not far from the border triangle of Bavaria, the Czech Republic and Saxony.

geography

Schwesendorf is located about two kilometers northeast of Regnitzlosau on the district road HO 4 to the Prex district of Regnitzlosau . Neighboring to the north is the district of Förtschenbach , Prex and Haag to the east, Hohenschwesendorf to the southeast, Raitschin to the south and Regnitzlosau to the west.

history

In 1324 Schwesendorf came into the possession of the knight Konrad von Reitzenstein . In 1875 the previous municipality name Haag was officially changed to Schwesendorf. Since the municipal reorganization of Bavaria, which came into force on January 1, 1972, the formerly independent municipality, to which the districts of Haag and Hohenschwesendorf also belonged, has been a district of Regnitzlosau . Schwesendorf had 78 inhabitants at that time, making it one of the smallest independent communities in Bavaria. 1988/89 the place was connected to the water supply network of the community.
