In fishing , the peninsula between Schlei and Flensburg Fjord in northeastern Schleswig-Holstein , such a homestead is usually spacious and consists of three detached buildings. The house forms the back of the courtyard and often resembles a mansion . The farm buildings are on the right and left. A linden tree often grows in the middle . The buildings of the homestead meet at the corners of the paved courtyard. The house is on one side next to the driveway. The living room on the gable side has its windows facing the street. The back of the yard is mostly taken up by the barn . Opposite the house is the stable or the pull-out house .
