Buildings at the Bismarck Tower

Bismarck tower above the grammar school

The school building is on Rosenbühl below the Bismarck Tower in the west of the city. In addition to the grammar school, the school center includes the Johann-Georg-August-Wirth-Realschule , the Max-Reger- Grundschule - a branch school of the Eichendorff School - and the Specialized Academy for Social Pedagogy (FAKS) .

The grammar school is located together with the secondary school in a reinforced concrete skeleton structure from the 1970s. The load-bearing walls are designed as exposed concrete walls and have been artistically designed by students over the years. Non-load-bearing walls are designed as plasterboard stud walls. The construction of the building reflects the standard of the 1970s. In the meantime, renovation measures have been carried out on the concrete and the installation. The walls around the auditorium were painted in fresh colors in 2007.

A shelter (nuclear bunker) for 200 people is located under one construction phase.

The auditorium in the core of the building is used for concerts, theater performances and lectures as well as for high school jokes.

In addition to the subject-specific classrooms for biology, chemistry, physics, music and art education, there is a large sports center that is also used by the other schools in the city of Hof. The sports center contains a triple gymnasium, an indoor swimming pool with a 25-meter pool and a hard court. The municipal stadium on Ossecker Strasse with a 400-meter track and grass pitch is also nearby.
