Ai Sahe

Ai Sahe was a rulership in the southeast of what is now East Timor . It was in the area of ​​today's city of Viqueque .

Waimaha , one of the Kawaimina languages , was spoken in the empire . When Tetum speakers immigrated to Viqueque from the west, they became the dominant power of the region with the empire of Luca . According to oral tradition, the founders of Luca immigrated from Wehale , the heartland of the Tetum in West Timor , 13 generations ago and joined the local clans by marriage, making the Tetum the leading force.
