Aiantides of Miletus
Aiantides of Miletus was a Greek officer who fought on the side of the Spartans under Commander-in-Chief Lysander in the battle of Aigospotamoi . His statue (created by the sculptor Tisander ) stood together with those of other officers on the victory monument that the Spartans erected in the Sanctuary of Delphi . The base of the statue was found during excavations and bears the inscription "Aiantides, son of Parthenios, from Miletus" and the name of the sculptor.
