content
King Muirchertach mac Erca , a historical ruler from the 6th century, meets a seductively beautiful sorceress named Sín while hunting. Since he then casts out his wife and children for her sake, he is cursed by the clergyman Cairnech (see Glám dícenn ). The sorceress, however, confuses Muirchertag's mind to madness, until he sets fire to his castle, falls into a barrel of wine, is trapped by a roof beam and perishes in the flames.
